Our first Tourist Scavenger Hunt here launched as an Explorer hunt in Philadelphia’s museum district in 2017. An alternate, regular (shorter) version followed in 2019.

A Tourist Scavenger Hunts is a 2-3 hour self-guided walking tour with instructions through our mobile website on your smartphone. You’ll learn the history of the city or neighborhood, and the significance of various sites, monuments, and historical figures. Also, you’ll enjoy solving our various challenges at almost every stop along the way.

Our Tours

Historic District: This 2.5-hour regular tour takes you from Independence Hall to Mother Bethel’s Church, Elfreth’s Alley, Declaration House, and back again.  You’ll see many historic buildings, parks, and monuments along the way. Launched in November 2023.

Museum District – Explorer: This 4-hour explorer tour takes you from City Hall to the Philadelphia Museum of Art and to Eastern State Penitentiary before returning to City Hall.  You’ll see many museums and historic buildings along the way. Tour updated in Fall of 2023

Museum District – Regular: This 2.5-hour regular tour takes you from City Hall to the Philadelphia Museum of Art and back by way of the Schuylkill River.  You’ll see many museums and historic buildings along the way. Tour updated in Fall of 2023

Additional details

Further, they all end within a few blocks of their starting point. Indeed, you’ll never walk more than 5 minutes between 2 stops. However, this isn’t a race. Take as much, or as little time as you want.
