Quebec City

Are you looking for things to do in Quebec City? Try one of our self-guided walking tours, our Tourist Scavenger Hunts. You will find 4 Tourist Scavenger Hunts spread around Quebec City, including one in Lévis across the river.

Quebec City was among the first destinations added in 2018. We’ve since then, re-tested these a few times. A few more are planned as well.

A Tourist Scavenger Hunts is a 2-3 hour self-guided walking tour with instructions through our mobile website on your smartphone. You’ll learn the history of a city or neighborhood, and the significance of various sites, monuments, and names. Also, you’ll enjoy solving our various challenges at almost every stop along the way.

Tour descriptions

  • Old Quebec #1 Château Frontenac: this 3-hour self-guided tour takes you from the top of the diamond cape outside the grand hotel that is the Chateau Frontenac, down to the old city (Petit Champlain) to see several of the old gates of the fortified city. Then you’ll walk back up to see the fortifications near the National Assembly and finish at City Hall and Quebec’s Cathedral, 2 blocks from your start location. The stories told in tours #1 and #2 are the same, but the challenges are all different.
  • Old Quebec #2 Port/Cruise Terminal: this is exactly the same as tour #1 but starts near Quebec City’s Cruise Terminal, which is also near the Civilization Museum. It takes you through the lower town to the old train station, then up to the fortifications, the National Assembly, and on to the Château Frontenac. You’ll then go down to the Petit Champlain and return to your start location. The stories told in tours #1 and #2 are the same, but the challenges are all different.
  • Quebec City Upper-Town: this tour takes you from the National Assembly building and its surrounding attractions to the Planes of Abraham where the British defeated the French in 1759. You’ll then see the Grand Theatre and many important parks and attractions before ending behind the National Assembly.

Additional details

Further, they all end within a few blocks of their starting point. Indeed, you’ll never walk more than 5 minutes between 2 stops. However, this isn’t a race. Take as much, or as little time as you want. Contact us if you have any questions.

You can do each one in either English or French.
